Here at the Tsayatoh Chapter, we offer positions for both PEP and YEP!

What is PEP?

PEP stands for “Public Employment Program”. The “Public Employment Program” provide short term employment for chapter residents to work on prioritized chapter projects.

What is the purpose of PEP?

The purpose of PEP is reduce the unemployment rate at the chapter and Navajo Nation level and provide on-the-job training to select chapter residents so they may obtain permanent employment with non-chapter employees.

When will I know a position in the Public Employment Program has opened up?

Anouncements about job availability here at the Chapter can be heard on KGAK and KYAT. You can also call the chapter to see if there are any jobs available here at the Chapter.

What will I need when applying for a PEP position?

You will need:

  • Accurately completed Chapter Employment Application
  • Voter’s Registration Card
  • Social Security Card
  • Valid Driver’s License or Identification Card 
  • Certificate of Indian Blood 
  • W-4 Form
What is YEP?

YEP stands for “Youth Employment Program”. The Youth Employment Program (YEP) is a short-term employment and training for eligible youth on Chapter projects or coordinate with other entities and the private sectors.

what are the qualification for YEP?

Participants must be 14 to 25 years of age and not be employed with another chapter or any entities. Participates shall be enrolled in a highschool, alternative school (GED), college, university, vocational or technical insitution with official supporting documents. Finally, they shall not be expelled or on probation status from high school, college, university, vocational or technical institution.

How will I know the Youth Employment Program (YEP) is open?

You can here is the Youth Employment Program (YEP) is open on KGAK and KYAT. You can also call the chapter to see if YEP application has opened as well.

What documents are required for applying for YEP?

You must have:

  • Accurately completed Chapter Youth Employment Program Application
  • Letter of Interest
  • Must be registered with Chapter for six (6) months or more. If under 18, your parent or guardian must be a registered voter with the Chapter.
  • Social Security card
  • Valid Driver’s License/Identification Card or school identification card
  • Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)
  • W-4 Form
